Adventurous Kate
Kate McCulley, the Kate behind Adventurous Kate, pioneers the solo female blog scene. Travelling the world for a living and writing about its many beauties, Kate loves adventure and formulates her travels around it in the best ways possible. From being punched in the face to being shipwrecked in Indonesia, she loves a good story and is more than willing to share it on Adventurous Kate. Starting with a quit job and a 6 month trip across southeast Asia, it’s been 7 years, more than 75 countries, 7 continents and counting. Kate provides a thorough image of what it’s like to be a travel blogger, documenting her personal struggles and accomplishments all the way through without holding back–giving Adventurous Kate a quirky and transparent image. Starting the blog to show what its like for women to travel solo and aims to encourage many other women dreaming of doing the same thing to step out of their fears and doubts and just do it. In many parts of the world its common to come across solo women travelers, in the U.S however it is not. There is ultimately a stigma that Kate wants to break in her endeavors to cover her adventures and inspire many others to go out and do the same. She travels solo because she loves it, and is convinced all her readers would too after reading through her blog. Independent travel can be safe, easy and fun. Originally being a traveler on a budget, Kate aims to shine light on how to make the greatest value in one’s travels–where to spend, save and understand the secrets behind the certain areas of travel. Kate is also zealous about visiting Unesco world heritage sites and intends on visiting as many as possible and documenting her adventures doing so. As of October 2016 she has visited over 125, only a portion of the 1092 current ones.
