Canada is a country of diversity. That’s to say it hosts some of the most diverse cities in the world. Canada is also incredibly diverse in its land. Going from Toronto to Vancouver yields very different climates and things to do and see. But in between those two major Canadian cities, there’s a smaller but no less beautiful town. This town is Banff, Alberta. Banff is home to the apt name Banff National Park, a true sight to behold. In this article, we will go into what it is like exploring Banff.
This is truly the heart of the Rockies.
Brittany Thiessen says that “the park features pristine wilderness, incredibly gorgeous natural beauty (tall snow-capped mountains and beautiful dense forests), lots of wildlife, a wide variety of hiking trails, stunning lakes and mountain views, and the charming mountain town of Banff”
There’s so much to do in Banff that we can’t fit it all into a small blog post, but we thought we’d go through some of Brittany’s highlights on exploring Banff.
The Cascade Gardens in Banff. These beautiful gardens on the south side of Banff Avenue are the perfect way to escape the busy nature of the crowds in Banff. Picturesque, calm, and just overwhelmingly beautiful.
Hike Fenland Trail. This short, 2 KM hike is filled with rivers and wildlife. Did we forget to mention it is absolutely stunning?
Visit Lake Louise. Brittany says, “This gorgeous turquoise-coloured glacier lake is surrounded by tall mountains and is situated just a [short] drive north of the town of Banff”.
