Emergencies happen, whether they’re across the country or across the world and ultimately it affects us. We want to be there to help out but sometimes we just can’t afford that ticket. Here is where I you turn to frequent flyer miles.
What could’ve been a $400 flight from the west to the east coast, turned out to be $2.50 (and that’s only for the security fee) with a cost of 12,500 frequent flyer miles via American Airlines. Obviously being a great deal and saving over 99% on the flight, frequent flyer miles can indeed be life savers.
This case alone refutes any claim of a scam against the true power of these points. The process of accruing these 12,500 frequent flyer miles wasn’t that arduous either. One can accomplish it by taking 2.5 round trips between the east and west coasts as a non elite members. Elite members may accomplish these miles in a lot less, perhaps even half a round trip. If you don’t want to do it the old fashioned way, you don’t have to.
By signing up for an airlines credit card one may receive anywhere between 15,000 to around 40,000 bonus frequent miles points; all it takes is a few minutes too. One may charge purchases on their airline credit cards or buy from their partners to earn anywhere between 1-15 frequent flyer miles for every dollar spent. Whether it be a night out at a sponsored restaurant or a few nights at a sponsored hotel, a lot of these miles can be easily accrued by doing things we enjoy. Use particular credit cards to really specialize in air miles and/or point rewards, just be sure to pay them all off in time to continue doing this at no expense.
