How To Have Fun in Whitehorse

Fun in Whitehorse is not a phrase that comes to most people’s minds. It’s unfortunate too because Whitehorse is a shining example of why people call Canada the great white north. Sure it’s colder in the winter than some people are used to. We promise that if you bundle up well, and follow the following list of things to do, you’ll have a great time. This list is brought to you by ibackpackcanada.com.

1) Yukon Wildlife Preserve. It’s cold, it’s sprawling and it’s beautiful. The Yukon Wildlife preserve has over 700 acres of land. It also contains 13 different species of northern Canadian mammals.

2) Miles Canyon Hiking. Now if this doesn’t scream fun in Whitehorse, we’re not sure what does. It’s “a mostly simple hiking trail near the city of Whitehorse”. You can also score free guided hikes and tours during the summer via the Yukon Conservation Society.

3) Macbride Museum. The Klondike Gold Rush, First nations art and more. This is what you can experience at the very cool, very interesting Macbride Museum.

4) Emerald Lake. One of the “most photogenic lakes in Canada”, Emerald Lake is a sight to behold. These lakes are as cold as they are beautiful so make sure you have dry and warm accommodations ready if you plan on taking a dip!

So those are the first 4 things to do for fun in Whitehorse. Of course, there’s a lot more, to do. We think it would be in your best interest to read the rest of the article. We also think you should go to Whitehorse because we think it sounds super cool.
