Like a local: How to blend in with Italians.

Viva L’Italia? Ever wanted to shout that at the top of your lungs and have people believe you mean it? Have you ever wanted to live like a local in Italy? Well now is your chance because today we will be going over a list of some great ways to blend in like a local when visiting Italy. Live like a local and not like a tourist in some popular destination. This list was originally seen on Forbes.

  • Greet everyone with two kisses. Some might say Italians are a little extra, but we like to think they’re just extra affectionate. Regardless of the reason, we’d like to implore you to give those two kisses when you meet up with someone, as that will be one way to help you blend in like a local.
  • Don’t order a cappuccino after 11 AM. What are you? A savage? Only the odd and party animals who sleep in late order this breakfast beverage after the appropriate times.
  • Enjoy a midday nap. In the summer midday or mid-afternoon can be incredibly hot. This causes people to want to run and escape the hot weather. Most people will take a riposino (or nap) during the hours of 12-3 and go back out around 4 when the sun has subsided.
  • Careful with that Ketchup. You might enjoy that macaroni and ketchup at home, but don’t do it in Italy. Just don’t. If you want to live like a local and not break the heart of some mom-n-pop chef, then keep the ketchup for burgers.Enjoying this list? Click here to see more.
