Loyalty Cards are a great way to rack up points for awesome freebies on things you already purchase. Sometimes, though, the allure of ‘free’ miles encourages us to spend more than we normally would have.
In this article by Sebastian Powell, we take a look at the pros and cons of travel loyalty systems. If your initial thought was, “well I travel anyway, I might as well use a card that accumulates me benefits”, you wouldn’t be alone.
But you should also ask yourself if you’ve ever spent more money than you really needed to just to get some extra benefits. If this is the case, don’t be too down on yourself. We all have. Having some extra points is awesome. But when it comes to travel those extra reward-points become tricky. First, you have to make sure that you’re getting miles/nights on your card of choice, then also make sure you’re collecting the miles/nights for the hotel you’re staying at (if applicable).
Take it from Mr. Powell and all of us at Pruvo, it’s often not worth it. Rather than searching out the best deals for some extra reward-points why not use Pruvo, we’ll find you the best hotel prices without forcing you into some arbitrary points system. It’s seriously that easy.
